Two smoke stacks with a big cloud of smoke

Conducted a refined air dispersion modeling analysis to evaluate out of stack concentration impacts on fresh air intakes. Compounds reviewed in the analysis were laboratory exhaust and fuel combustion emissions from near-by boilers. The goal of the project was to provide RTI with sufficient air quality data so that RTI could design exhaust stack modifications and better locate fresh air intakes on the S&E building to prevent pollutant entrainment into the indoor air. Refined modeling results were used to evaluate the downwind exhaust plume dispersion as affected by the site-specific structures and the resulting dilution of out-of-stack chemical concentrations at the air intake locations.
