CHANGE Environmental, LLC was recruited for the procurement of human health and ecological risk assessments professional services, to assist HRP Associates, LLC and the New York State Department of Conservation, (NYSDEC) and the New York State Department of Health, (NYSDOH) throughout the development of risk assessment to be prepared by outside contracting agencies. The services included review of contaminant screening level assumptions and review of draft human and ecological risk assessment. The risk assessment defined the perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) contamination detected in the village of Hoosick Falls Public drinking water supply wells. The risk assessments defined the exposure pathways caused by the disposal of hazardous substances associated with the McCaffrey St. Site and provided a basis of evaluating remedial alternatives.
This work is continuing and our recommendations have resulted in positive changes to the overall world plans set in motion approved by the New York State Department of Conservation (NYSDEC) and New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).
