Conducted an intensive fugitive and air emissions for silica dust of a proposed silica sand transfer station looking to be built with several hundred meters of a nearby community. Analysis included conducting an expert statistical evaluation of yearly emissions and impacts on the downwind areas. Various weather and emissions models were used to calculate and illustrate that the community at large would have in fact been impacted by the emissions generated not only from the truck traffic hauling product in and out, but also from the rail operations leaving the site with silica sand, and stored piles on site from blow off into the community. The findings resulted in the application of the plant being denied.
